Introduction

An Address Book is a database used for storing entries called contacts, each contact entry usually consists of one or more fields like:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Address
  • Telephone number
  • ...

The Address Book can be stored
  • Locally in the device
  • Network
  • Online

Local Address Book

The Local Address Book is stored in the Device, each Gigaset device has a Local Address Book and per device there can be a difference with the total number of contacts, number of fields that can be stored.


Network Address Book

This will provide the possibility to create an Address Book in the network that allows to organize and manage all of the contacts through a single interface and make it available on all Devices. Network Address Book can be placed on:

  • PBX
  • External Server
  • Other software packages with integrated Address Books

There are also different Protocols available to connect to these Network Address Books.
