Introduction

This wiki article describes how you can switch from an N870 Integrator with multiple DECT managers, DECT base-stations and handsets to an Virtual Integrator without registering the DECT handsets again.

It is not possible to save the configuration of the N870 Integrator and restore on the Virtual Integrator as it is a different device.

You need to follow the following steps.

  • Export the DECT handsets
  • Export the DECT base-stations
  • Document the DECT manager external synchronisation rules
  • Have an Virtual integrator running that has the same firmware version as the N870 integrator.
Export the N870 Integrator settings

The following information you need to collect from your N870 integrator:

As the N870 Integrator is still reachable via his IP address / web-interface many settings can still be collected.

DECT Manager - Administration

Document the connected DECT Managers (Maximum 4 can be configured when using the N870 in Integrator only role)

  • Name
  • Password
  • RPN Group
  • Capacity

DECT manager - Synchronisation

Document the external DECT Manager synchronisation rules.

Base station - Administration

Export the base stations per DECT manager as import also needs to be done per DECT manager.

Mobile devices - Administration

Export all handsets

DECT PARI

Document the DECT PARI, that can be found on the STATUS page:

Configure the Virtual Integrator

The Virtual Integrator is installed and is using the same software version.

Login using the standard username and password.

Change the password and set the DECT radio band.

Add the DECT managers.

Add the DECT managers in the same sequence you had them before. dm1 = dm1, dm2 = dm2, ....

Use the same settings like used in the N870 integrator only role.

  • DECT Manager name
  • DECT Manager Password
  • RPN Group

When the have added all DECT Managers go to the web-interface of the single DECT managers.

Change the Integrator IP address to the Virtual Integrator IP address.

When you are ready with all DECT managers, you should see that all are connected.

Define the Master DECT manager, in this example dm1.

Check if the settings are the same and also check the Capacity setting (Small/Medium).

DECT PARI

Check if the DECT PARI on the Virtual Integrator is the same like the N870 integrator only mode. (Status page)

N870 Integrator onlyN870 Virtual integrator

If the DECT PARI is not the same, you need to change it before doing the next steps, see: FAQ - How to prepare one DECT manager installations to be added later to Virtual integrator

If the DECT PARI is not the same all handsets needs to be Registered manually.

Base station import

In the web-interface go to: Base stations - Administration - Import

Select the Base station export file and make sure you select the correct DECT manager for import.

Do this for all DECT managers

DECT manager synchronisation

Add the DECT manager external synchronization rules

Mobile devices import

In the web-interface go to: Mobile devices - Administration - Import

Select the handset export file.

All handsets will be added and after sometime they will connect to your Virtual Integrator system. Or restart he handset to speed-up the process.
